Rand Paul Defends BP

By Barbara H. Peterson

Looks like Rand Paul may be just another wolf in sheep’s clothing.

In the article, he defends BP. It seems he wants to spread the word that shit happens, it’s really nobody’s fault.

Other Republicans have criticized the government’s handling of the oil spill. But few have been so vocal in defending BP, the company responsible for the deep well and offshore rig that exploded last month, killing 11 workers and spewing millions of gallons of oil.

Paul said BP has agreed to pay the costs of the cleanup and damage. “I think it’s part of this sort of blame-game society in the sense that it’s always got to be somebody’s fault instead of the fact that maybe sometimes accidents happen,” he told ABC.

He also referred to a Kentucky coal mine accident that killed two men, saying he had met with the families and admired the coal miners’ courage.

“We had a mining accident that was very tragic,” Paul said. “Then we come in and it’s always someone’s fault. Maybe sometimes accidents happen.”

Everyone counting on change with Rand Paul better be prepared for more “change” that we cannot swallow.

  1. Big Oil should have to provide disclaimers every time Rand Paul speaks.

“We’re Big Oil, and we paid for this message.”

  2. Hello, is there anyone out there in Politic’s that doest speak the truth, or care about the wellbeing of it’s countries citizen? No, but hell no, You are on your own! Lip services is all there is anymore. Profit and greed and they could care less who the hell gets hurt along the way. What gives them the right to profit on natural resources anyway, WE ALL SHOULD BENEFIT…….NO JUST OF FEW, EVERYONE. :P

    • Your absolutely right, about everything you said sir! But, we as Americans should get off our lazy butts and get out there in ” RECORD NUMBERS” and just stop work, shut it down, peaceful protest!..And let us get rid of all politicians that have lied once! And make sure we put in an amendment that says the very first time any canidate from President to your local suppossedly public servent lies or does not fulfill any promise that he/she made, is out..That way they will be held accountable for what they say on that platform and call it purgery if they lie! And have them arrested. And make a better law for normal everyday citizens to be able to make a citizens arrest when valid accusations backed up by proof enough that a judge looks at it and grants the arrest, of one and all politicians.I bet you that ” LIP SERVICE THEY WORSHIP SO MUCH WILL CRUMBLE”!!!!!!!…

  3. I think a lot of things that Rand has said are being taken out of context right now.
I was active in the campaign for Rand because he is a constituionalist like his father and the consititution was put in place to restrain government -who are currently acting as corporate fascists. I believe he will stand against bribery and persuasion from large corporations who are dominating our current legislators. BP is one of those corporations, obviously.
The political game is hard, especially for an outsider, and that he is. I think we will see consistency in his voting, and that’s what counts. I will not listen to the media and what they have to say about him. I have witnessed first hand this dirty, dirty business of politics.
Our farms are disappearing, our jobs, and more importantly, our rights.
The majority of Kentucky is liking Rand because we have many career politicians in this state and we are weary of them all.
People think I am crazy for hoping. Maybe he will disappoint Kentucky, but it’s worth a shot. What other choice do we have?

    • If Rand is really for change, not Obama change but real change, then you best trust and believe that they are gonna twist every thing he says and comments on! The establishment already does not like him, and if he is another Obama, let us not be taken in by mere speaches that move you, and touch an emotional part of us/you..Yeah but these politicians are blatently disregaurding the constitution and the arm people of america, police, military are all in cohoots with them and how funny that they are the very one’s who took the pledge to defend it from enemies foriegn or ” DEMESTIC!” And that is what we have here, a government who is out to scare the citizens into giving up their liberties!
Well remember I’m sure they said the same thing about Obama and look what we ended up with? An illegal alien, and I’m a hispanic former gangbanger, who has been in and out of prisons, but has been awakened and by the grace of OUR LORD have surrendered all to Him whom is LORD OF ALL and KIng of KINGS….And that my friends is the answer, DRAW EVER CLOSER TO HIM WHOM IS NEAR NOW,BECAUSE HE WON’T BE FOR LONG,IT WILL BE LIKE IN THE FLOOD,WE HAVE OUR CHANCE NOW TO CALL ON HIS HOLY NAME AND BE SAVED ONCE WE REPENT AND LEAVE ALL THE CARES OF THIS WORLD BEHIND US,FOR WE ARE NOT OF THIS WORLD,A NEW AGE IS COMING INTO BEING,FOR BEHOLD ALL THINGS ARE MADE NEW! LET US PRAY AND GET READY FOR WHAT IS COMING,FOR THIS HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED FROM THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE EARTH,THERE IS TO BE A KING OF KINGS, OUR LORD YAHSHUAH WILL RULE THE NATIONS FOR 1,000, YEARS..WE WHO ARE LIVING WILL BE TRANSFORMED WITH IN A TWINKLING OF AN EYE,AND THEY WHOM HAVE DIED IN CHRIST WILL RISE FROM THEIR GRAVES AND WE WILL MEET THEM IN THE AIR WITH OUR LORD THE CHRIST TO BRING AN END TO THIS GOVERNMENT,AND GIVE AID TO OUR GOD IN THE NEW MILLENIUM FOR ONE THOUSAND YEARS,THEN he WHOM HAS DECIEVED THE GOVERNMENTS BEFORE AND BROUGHT WAR AND EVIL WILL BE LET OUT TO DECIEVE ONCE MORE AND THEY WHO FOLLOW him,WHO IS KNOWN AS lucifer WILL ALONG WITH him FINALLY ONCE AND ALL BE DESTROYED AND THEN BEHOLD A NEW HEAVEN AND A NEW EARTH, NEVER AGAIN TO KNOW PAIN, HURT OR SIN,NO EVIL OR ANYTHING THAT IS UNHOLY FOR WE SHALL REIGN WITH OUR GOD HERE ON EARTH OR VISE VERSA, HE SHALL LIVE WITH HIS CREATION,THE APPLE OF HIS EYE!

  4. OK, I checked out your link Barbra. What did Rand say that was so out of line? Since when it US govt’s job to have their boot on ANYONE’S throat???? Where has BP said they won’t pay for the cleanup?

I know that the IRS & the PROGRESSIVE’S income tax & the IRS Gestapo have their boots on US citizens neck, but it’s not their job. Now O want to own every thing by imposing total govt control over every one & every thing but it’s NOT his job.

Regarding Rand’s “racist” stance, he is quite correct. Govt has no business telling private business who to serve. If a restaurant put up a sign that said Whites or Blacks only, they would be boycotted out of business in a day or two. So, as usuall, Babs & co have whipped up a straw man argument to smear a man who wants to return the US govt to the Constitution & our Founder’s advice. Nothing new in that. Just ask Rand’s Pops, Ron. However, this is a VERY FOOLImH stance if you really want to live in a free country.

That’s the real reason for all the fuss, along with O’s ‘redistribution of wealth’ as he seeks to fundamentally transform the US into a social Fascist state.. Prog libs don’t like the Constitution, our foundation that must be transformed. They call it outdated & a living document that they can re-work at their whim so total govt control can be unleashed. Talk about putting boots on throats!!!

O has said that our founding documents don’t tell what the Fed Govt is supposed to do regarding taking citizen money & giving it away. (Funny how.a LOT of it sticks to their bank accounts on the way the the ‘recipients’. )

O calls the Constitution a negative document. Gee Mr Prez, ya think that MAYBE THE FOUNDERS HAD LIMITED GOVT IN MIND, JUST POSSIBLY, by some coincidence or other??? YO O, Babs & prog lib co!! Ya think that possibly our Founders had already had their fill of the type of govt you & your Marxist pals want to re-establish, only more so????

    SamFox

    • Sam,

Your argument would be much more effective if you had not assumed what I “and my Marxist pals” want to re-establish. You have resorted to an unfounded ad hominem attack that has no basis in fact, and includes a sweeping generality based on assumption.

      The following statement is clear:

“Paul said BP has agreed to pay the costs of the cleanup and damage. “I think it’s part of this sort of blame-game society in the sense that it’s always got to be somebody’s fault instead of the fact that maybe sometimes accidents happen,” he told ABC.”

BP was negligent. No adequate safety controls were in effect at the very least, and sweeping it under the rug by saying that “accidents happen” is unnacceptable.

Are you saying that he did not state this?

    • Well BP should pay for the clean up, what they should have done from the very begining was spend that Five hundred thousand dollars for that shut off valve that so easily would have averted this whole situation,oh but I forgot, they didn’t have the money right? They only neted what was that, afew million or was it hundred million for last years profits? And your telling us,Oh BP is gonna pay for it.Rightly so~!

  5. I forgot a link that any one seeking the truth about Rand Paul should see. Bives a better idea of what is really going on. Thanks!!

  6. A wolf in sheep’s clothing wearing see-through garments, I’d say.

He also put out a press release STRONGLY supporting the state of
Israel in all of their rogue criminal activities, much worse than his father
on that issue. The Israel First issue alone disqualifies him to be a senator
given that the role of a US senator is to serve US citizens! Duh.

Why don’t they just let AIPAC now run the government, anyway,
most Obama admin people are from Goldman Sachs.

  7. When it comes to the war, you’ll just have to see how Rand VOTES. He will be fiscally conservative, I know this. And policing the world is costing us billions!
If he votes for funding these wars, he will have some very disgruntled followers – and boy are they vocal!
If people haven’t realized that both parties are bought and paid for by corporations by now, they never will.
